A renovation of an old house in Mundakayam Kerala. The house was plagued by unnecessary additions and expansions, which were removed to retain the original stone core of the house which was then paired with a new volume. Both the old and new volumes with their contrasting nature and complexities are encased in a double height shell topped by a sloping roof which was placed linearly and oriented to face the view of the valley on which the house rests. The project is one of our first linear plans which we also explore in other projects.
